Disposal of Electrical Appliances

Since August 2005 new regulations govern Electrical and Electronic Equipment Waste. European Directives and Romanian Govern Decisions prohibit the disposal of electrical appliances in an unauthorised way. If your business is a producer of electrical or electronic equipment you will already had to forecast the amount of electrical waste you will produce on an annual basis and pay the appropriate authority.

BRITCOM DIRECT SRL does not refurbish WEEE. A very small percentage of products, as part of our technological process, converts to WEEE. This material is then entirely processed in accordance with WEEE and RoHS Directives, by our partner Stena DTM

Our company has put in place specific procedures regarding WEEE which, along with the other procedures from the Quality and Environmental Management System, make our products safe, both from an electrical and environmental impact perspective.

Under the WEEE Regulations, all our products are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown to the right:

Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.

To properly eliminate WEEE is one of our top priorities as stated by our CEO – Ben Greig in the presentation movie and by our Administrator – Cristina Nila in the Quality and Environmental Policy. Thus, our management have placed a responsibility on our company not to allow a single component from any product to go anywhere near landfill. We target & achieve a 100% recycling record.

As per our legal requirements we include the two Romanian government decisions (HG 448/2005 and HG 992/2005) that integrate into Romanian legislation the WEEE and RoHS directives.
